Geo. F. Trumper | Eucris Shaving Soap with Wooden Bowl

Recently purchased the soap in the bowl. I have now tried it three times and have the following observations:
1. As mentioned in many reviews of this soap it does not create a great lather. I had no problem making a lather after blooming the puck and using a synthetic brush but once applied it tends to dissipate. On the other hand it does have great slickness, which offsets the weak lather to some degree.
2. It has a nice, manly scent; somewhat musky but not heavy in my opinion.
3. It irritates my skin. I was hopeful this might fade with use but not so. The irritation is quite strong and only subsides after several hours after liberal applications of alum, witch hazel and a good balm. It is significant enough that I can no longer use this soap. Perhaps it is just me but I have used many other soaps over the years and never experienced this.
