Spearhead Shaving

Spearhead Shaving | SEA ICE LIME SHAVING SOAP - LIMITED RELEASE WITH COOLING

$30

Like a rogue cold front blowing over a tropical beach, Sea Ice Lime brings a frosty chill to our most popular scent.

This limited release combines Sea Spice Lime with synthetic menthol, known for its pleasant, rounded cooling effect.  The cooling is moderately strong, gradually increasing in strength throughout the shave.

This year’s release upgrades the soap to our Highland soap base.  Highland is rich in skin-loving oleic acid with a uniquely smooth and creamy lather.  The soft soap lathers easily with exceptional slickness and post-shave feel.

The scent for Sea Ice Lime was developed by Shawn Maher of Chatillon Lux and Maher Olfactive.  It is both hearty and utterly refreshing.  A juicy lime accord is at the heart of the fragrance with the froth of waves crashing over the deck providing a salty ocean and cedarwood undertone.  Coriander, pink pepper and a touch of west indies bay provide a spice melange that gives some brawn to a new modern classic.

Scent notes include: Tahiti Lime, Bergamot, Sea Spray, Coriander, Pink Pepper & Oakmoss

Ingredients: Stearic Acid, Water, Beef Tallow, Glycerin, Potassium Hydroxide, Kokum Butter, Fragrance, Castor Oil, Sodium Hydroxide, WS-23, Sodium Lactate, Xanthan Gum, Jojoba Oil, Murumuru Butter, Shea Butter

Another fine offering from Spearhead

Scent

Sea Spice Lime but Cooler. The scent here is almost identical to Seaforth! Sea Spice Lime but with way more chill. This soap has a briny, aquatic lime scent that's well supported with bergamot, oakmoss, and a lovely note of pink peppercorn.

I find all of Spearhead's soaps assertive but not too in your face and this one is no exception. I'd wear this anywhere that didn't have a scent-free policy.

I will definitely be getting a lot of mileage out of this soap over the summer.

Lather

Spearhead's Highland soap base remains the softest high quality artisan soap I've used. I was able to load my brush in approximately 0.87 seconds. It lathered up very nicely off a dampened brush, with just a few drops of water to bring it to the right consistency. It's a fantastic base but demands a bit of a lighter touch. The chill kicked in right about the time I started my second pass and lasted for about 20 minutes total.

Post-Shave

I gave the matching alcohol splash a go after a three pass shave with the soap. It has a nice, bright, citrusy scent. There's a bit of chill to it but it's more subdued than the soap and seemed to fade faster.
