Barrister and Mann

Barrister and Mann | Seville Shaving Soap

$35
Description

Everyone has a different idea of what a barbershop ought to smell like, but we tend to lean historically for this kind of stuff. Giovanni Maria Farina famously created the very first Eau de Cologne in the early 1700s, and it was an instant success. His formula was prized by the royal courts, and was so highly regarded that it's still in production today. As a result of this popularity, Eau de Cologne fragrances have been staples in European barbershops for well over a hundred years.

While we don't claim to be as gifted as Signor Farina, our Seville scent is definitely in a class all its own. Affectionately dubbed "God's barbershop" by some of our more poetic customers, Seville is a blend of lemon, bergamot, rosemary, lavender, patchouli, and oakmoss. The name comes from the famous opera The Barber of Seville, but the scent is at home anywhere. Give it a try; you won't be disappointed.

It's lemon.

I was quite interested in this based on all the positive reviews. Upon receiving and trying this soap, I can say it lathers very well, but scent wise, it's simply lemon to me. I have other barbershop scents (Stirling, Chiseled Face Ghost Town Barber) that offer very distinctive scents. I'm not saying that B+M's barbershop is bad, it's a good soap, but the hyperbole I read is way overblown in my opinion. I could see how many people enjoy it tho as it is a simple lemon scent.

The scent from days gone by. But, the performance of today.

The combination of a great scent and performance for others to envy is in this tub of goodness.

Grab the aftershave so you can enjoy this fantastic offering from Barrister and Mann for the rest of the day.

This is not even close to a traditional barbershop soap sent - however it still is a great soap that has a complex sent profile lathers great and I have enjoyed using it. Would I reorder I am not sure jury is still out on that one.
