π™Žπ™˜π™šπ™£π™©: A very nice, bright tropical and somewhat exotic scent and the profile very much matches the name. The scent is strong out of the container and noticeable when applied and has some serious lasting power; I used some Island Man lotion before bed and when I woke the next morning there were still some lingering but subdued wafts. If you put this on after a shower you’ll pick up hints of it through the day, as might other people in your immediate vicinity. The ylang-ylang and ginger were the most prominent notes to my nose, followed by hints of coconut, jasmine and lime.
π™‹π™šπ™§π™›π™€π™§π™’π™–π™£π™˜π™š: Decent performance and goes on without leaving you feeling greasy while also absorbing rapidly, it seems on par with other water-based lotions. If you suffer from light- to moderate- dry skin, this formula should provide a bit of aid but if you have super dry skin or skin conditions like eczema, this might only serve to aggravate your problems compared to a glycerin-base heavy-duty cream. Given how my skin was starting to dry out again in temperatures hovering around 0Β°C for about 35 minutes, I highly doubt this lotion will protect against prolonged exposure to Canada’s more brutal winter conditions but it should help renew your skin if you apply it when returning indoors or are otherwise protected from the outdoor winter elements.
𝙍𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙀𝙒 𝙏𝙝𝙀π™ͺπ™œπ™π™©π™¨: The containers Stirling Soap Co. use are a very hard plastic, so I’m not particularly looking forward to trying to get the last remnants of the lotion out of this container unless I start ravaging it like a bear trying to access a locked trash bin. I’m not a fan of plastic in general, so hopefully with the upswing in biodegradable alternatives Stirling may switch in the future. The 9.6oz is a pretty solid offering and should last a while for the price tag.
